Ian Price’s work was selected to appear in the 2020 de Young Open exhibition.
Every artwork image was reviewed anonymously multiple times by a group of jurors who did not know the identities of the artists. The seven jurors had the challenge of selecting works, and accepted less than 8 percent of all those submitted. The jurors comprised four Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco Curators-in-Charge and three prominent Bay Area artists: Mildred Howard, Hung Liu, and Enrique Chagoya.
Windows for Harvey
Harvey Milk was an American politician and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California, as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Ian Price’s work was selected for the Windows for Harvey exhibition in 2020, to celebrate the 90th birthday of Harvey Milk.
Press cuttings and an initial rough for the work are shown.
